Bangladesh Petroleum Institute

 






Bangladesh Petroleum Institute is an autonomous national research institute. It carries out research and provides technical support to organizations in the hydrocarbon and petroleum industries. It is located in Uttara , Dhaka , Bangladesh . It is abbreviated as BPI.





History 





The Institute was established in January 1971 and is under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Bangladesh . In 2004, the Bangladesh Petroleum Institute Act was passed in Parliament, which provided more resources for skills development in the oil, gas and petroleum industries.





Activities 





It is aimed at imparting training to the workers and artisans employed in the energy sector of Bangladesh, feasibility study and research activities on hydrocarbons, advance study on development in this regard, innovation of technology based information system and subsequent operational activities and technical and technical assistance to energy related organizations. Bangladesh Petroleum Institute has trained 2,622 energy related professionals through 161 training courses, workshops and seminars till 2015.





The organization conducts dozens of training courses each year on geology, geophysics, geochemistry, energy engineering, well logging, mining engineering, energy management, pipeline engineering, gas transmission and distribution, accounting and financing, security and environment, project management. Does. In addition to their own trainers in conducting these training courses, they employ experienced trainers related to energy and trainers of foreign professionals. The organization also sends their experienced trainers to various energy related organizations or companies abroad as trainer representatives in the relevant field. The BPI has its headquarters in its own yard in Uttara Model Town.
