Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan

 

Bangladesh Sports Education Institution is the only sports education center in Bangladesh. Which is known as BKSP (Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratisthan) for short. The company is located in Savar , not far from Dhaka . However , in addition to the main centers of Savar , BKSP has regional centers in Chittagong , Khulna , Barisal , Sylhet  and Dinajpur . BKSP was established in 1986. The main educational activities of BKSP are conducted up to higher secondary level. However, some students are also admitted for graduation (pass) and diploma degrees in various subjects .

History 





BIS (Bangladesh Institute of Sports) was established in 1984 as a sports institution. In 1986, BIS Bangladesh started its journey as a government agency under the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Named 'Bangladesh Sports Education Institute or BKSP'. Later in 1973, the organization emerged as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Bangladesh. It is headed by a 10-member board headed by the Minister in charge of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. A brigadier general of the army served as the director general of the organization.





Categories 





Bangladesh Sports Education Institute has the opportunity to study sports in 18 subjects . The divisions are Cricket , Football , Hockey , Shooting , Archery , Judo , Wushu , Taekwondo , Athletics , Basketball , Swimming , Gymnastics , Boxing , Tennis , Volleyball , Karate and Table Tennis .





Admission Requirements 





Most of the students in BKSP are admitted in seventh grade. Seventh grade admissions include cricket , football , hockey , shooting , archery , judo , wushu , taekwondo and athletics . Besides, he was admitted in fourth and sixth class in swimming , gymnastics , boxing and tennis . Only eighth and ninth graders in the basketball department were admitted. However, age and height are relaxed in the case of players with special sports qualifications.





Election 





Admission aspirants are selected first. After the preliminary selection, a seven-day training camp was organized with them. Practical tests are conducted in the training camp. And finally the written test is taken. The subjects of the written test are: Bengali, English and Mathematics. The distribution shows that as a percentage, 60 percent physical fitness and sports skills, 10 percent practical tests related to sports science, and the remaining 20 percent written test.





Graduate and diploma courses 





Under the National University , 60 students graduate (pass) every year and 30-40 students can be admitted in the 10-month diploma course in various subjects of the Department of Sports Science. This diploma degree is awarded in four subjects of sports science. These are Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, Sports Biomechanics and Science of Sports Training. Eligibility for admission is a bachelor's or equivalent degree from any university. However, for admission in Exercise Physiology and Sports Biomechanics, one has to have a Bachelor of Science. And if you want to be admitted in Sports Psychology, you have to have a bachelor's degree in psychology. If you want to be admitted in Science of Sports Training, the applicant must have a BPED or MPED degree. 





Talent Search program 





Another important initiative of BKSP is to conduct talent search activities across the country. To this end, BKSP conducts talent hunt activities. Through this the best players are found from all over the country. These players are again given the opportunity to be admitted to BKSP after various periods of training.
