History
The institute was set up by the Bangladesh government in June 1999. In 2011, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited the Institute and praised the role of Bangladesh's peacekeeping forces in the UN . In 2016, The Royal Thai Army Institute expressed interest in using it. The lab at the institute provides training in the French national foreign language. The organization has already trained more than 10,000 Bangladeshi peacekeepers.
