Bangladesh Government Press ( BG Press for short ) is an official printing house of the Government of Bangladesh . This is B.G. Also known as press. This press covers all important printing functions of the government, such as budgets, reports, programs, laws, leaflets, posters, ordinances, economic studies, periodicals, forms (standard and non-standard), DO pads, DO envelopes, invitations and geographical and political pots. Works on printing and publishing on infrastructure, manpower, technology and manufacturing related to reconstruction. The press is responsible for printing court rulings and lawsuits.
The Government of Bangladesh was initially established in Calcutta as the East Bengal Government Press. After the partition of India in 1947, the East Bengal Government Printing Press was set up inside the Dhaka Central Jail on Nazimuddin Road with some printing presses and manpower of the Bengal Government Press in Calcutta as the printing press of the independent state. Later, in 1953, the press was relocated to its present location, in the Tejgaon industrial area of Dhaka, and was renamed the East Pakistan Government Press. After the independence of Bangladesh, East Pakistan Government Printing Press became Bangladesh Government Printing Press.
In 2012, B.G. A fraudulent ring embezzled Rs 11 crore using a similar counterfeit check printed by the press. In December 2014, bdnews24.com reported that security at the printing press was inadequate. There was some concern about the security of the press after the leaked questions of national exams including Bangladesh Civil Service Examination. In June 2016, an employee of the press received an H.Sc. He tried to sell them by memorizing the test question papers. Nine others, including him, were arrested in the incident.
