Technology-based knowledge has a long-term impact on the economy and social contribution as a civic group responsible for the national dream. Especially by engaging with the younger generation to inspire and guide them to become future technology leaders.

BASIS has had little success in achieving the goals already outlined. In order to create a domestic market, BASIS has a variety of programs and activities. Every year, BASIS hosts BASIS SoftExpo, the largest software and ITES exhibition in the country. In recent years, SoftExpo has become an annual mega marketplace; Where the country's software and IT services companies showcase their products and services to potential IT users at both corporate / organizational and individual levels.

BASIS periodically publishes software and IT service catalogs / directories to promote potential business clients to local solution providers. BASIS has been working closely with various concerned ministries and government agencies to develop the market in the public sector. BASIS is trying to play a catalytic role so that its members can effectively support and provide technical guidance to various government initiatives in line with the current government's vision of Digital Bangladesh. In addition to these market development initiatives, BASIS provides consulting services for both public and private clients to enjoy IT.

In order to develop the export market, BASIS regularly takes initiative to create exposure for the member companies in the international market with the help of various governments and development agencies working in the field of export development. Such initiatives include participation in international IT fairs and marketing missions, outsourcing business linkage programs, B2B trade platforms, etc. BASIS supports the breadth and capabilities that its members offer. These initiatives help local companies become competitive locally and internationally. These include training programs (technology and management; to date more than two thousand professionals have received training from BASIS), promotion and sharing of best industry practices, quality drive across the industry, etc.

In the recent past, BASIS has also taken steps to develop in-depth industry research and white papers to provide strategic direction to its members. BASIS regularly liaises with relevant government agencies and other relevant stakeholders for policy advice to the sector. BASIS played an active role in the formulation of the National ICT Policy 2009. BASIS Software and ITES strongly support policies and issues related to industry support for the industry (tax exempt benefits, EEF policy, special foreign exchange rules for BASIS members, etc.). BASIS is represented on various national level committees, including the Digital Bangladesh Task Force (led by the Prime Minister), the High Technology Park Development Authority and the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC).
