Bangladeshi band or Bangladeshi band refers to the traditional rock band in Bangladesh. Bengali bands started in East Pakistan in the sixties of the nineteenth century. After the war of liberation in 1971, rock bands spread in Bangladesh in the 70's and 80's.


History 


East Pakistan period 


From the British period, there were reports of British bands and music stars performing songs in Dhaka at the invitation of various hotels and Nawab families in Dhaka. After the partition of Pak-India, the first band-style song was reported at a cultural event at St. Gregory's School in Dhaka on 17 March 1973. Telfer Johnson, a 16-year-old teenager, performed Guitar Bazaar and Cliff Richard's songs. Fazle Rob, Alamgir (later a popular singer from Bangladesh and Pakistan), a ninth grader from the same school, formed the band Rafiq and Sabbir. It is said that the first band of Bangladesh, Iolites, was born in their hands . The band regularly performs at Hotel Shahbag and Dhaka Club. The band also performed on TV for the first time in 1975. Another contemporary band of Iolites was born in Chittagong. Name Zinga Industrial Group. According to musicologists and historians, 'Zinga' is a family band. According to some, it is the first band in Bangladesh. Even the internet and some historians call Zinga the first band in the country. However, there is no special evidence to call Zinga the first band in the country. The singer of this group Omar Khaled Rumi later started singing in Bengali for another band. In that judgment, it can be said that he was the first band artist of Bengali music. After Jingar, another band Lightning was born in Chittagong. The Lightning Band was formed in 1986 by Farid Rashid, Newmandage, Noel and Shakil . Along with them, Mahmud, Tota, filmmaker Zafar Iqbal and Farooq formed a band called Rambling Stones . Both the bands became very popular in East Pakistan. Formed in the same yearWindy Site of Care Band. In 1986, Iolights, Wind Site of Care, Rambling Stones and Lightnings competed at the Hotel InterContinental. The best band in the competition was selected by Windy Site of Care. Along with these bands, the 'Bakalam' band, which was born in Narayanganj in 1986, became very popular. The band Fire and Ice was founded in 1989. The first rupture of the Rumbling Stones occurred in 1969. The members of this band separated and formed a new band 'Time Go Motion'. After that, the country's first band, Iolites, broke up. It broke down as drummer Sabbir and rhythm guitarist Rafiq left the band.



Bangladesh period

After independence , two bands, Ugly Faces and Underground Peace Lovers , were formed in 1972 . There is controversy over the first band to be born after independence. According to some, 'Underground Peace Lovers' is the first post-independence band. After the country's first band controversy, Omar Khaled Rumi is the founder of the band after the first post-independence band controversy. He was accompanied by Salauddin, Sajjad and several others in the band. The Ugly Faces band is the first band to be caught based on the majority opinion . Later, Pilu Mumtaz joined the four artists and they continued to perform with the band with the name Panchpi. But none of the five artists were seen to go too far with the band. It has been seen that they are interested in making acquaintances alone. Then came the advent of pop rock bands. Bands such as Souls [1983], Feedback Twentieth Century [198], Balark [198], Abnormal Three Plus [198], Miles [1989] created a new touch of Western touch in Bengali music. Souls, the evolution of the 1962 Surela Sangeet Dal, is the longest lasting band in Bangladesh.
